*Her job today was scrolling the news reels around the world. Every Sunday, when most papers were due out, they were gathered in a digital collection for agents to analyze. If something popped out as a possible case, it was marked for further investigation by the senior agents. It was time consuming, but it was part of what made the agency what it was.*

*Bending, she tugged at a few smaller weeds that had crept up after the last gardening day. Ailwin was off on some mission. Kaden was on desk duty today, so she wasn't going near him with a 10 foot pole and bear gloves. Illy had rushed off with her camera in tow, so who knew where that tiger had ended up for the last hour. Turstin had been grudgingly helping her with yardwork, but they'd all grown accustomed to Ailwin doing most of it. Seeing the grumpy look on her mate's face as Presto chased the riding mower barking had almost taken her attention from the fact that he'd begun to strip down in the heat. Almost.*
*Sitting at her small desk, she tapped her toes as she adjusted the volume on the headphones, listening in to snippets of recordings from assets and "undisclosed intel". Which basically meant illegally obtained. Her job this week was to sort out anything that sounded suspicious, and mark the time code. After that, I'd go to the specialists in the cryptography department to further analyze.*
Amethyst Ayesha |PF| *She hadn't told Turstin about the incident at the grocery store. She'd likely imagined it, it could happen. Being an agent tended to make you wary and distrustful even in the most normal situations. You had to keep your guard up, that was the life. Then, the feeling continued. While she was at work. When she went to the gym. Even when she was simply sitting out on the deck at the Den, where no prying eyes should ever be. It was beginning to worry her, and she could no longer simply shrug it off.*
*Turstin had given her a list and sent her to the store while he was working on prep. She'd never been that great of a cook, and truthfully would have subsisted on sandwiches and cereal if left to her own devices, so it was nice to have someone who knew how to cook. And actually wanted to cook instead of being forced to so that she'd eat. List in tow, she headed to the grocery store, checking off each item as she sat it in the cart. She might not be able to cook well, but gathering supplies and assisting, that she could do.*
*Tipping her head back, she let out a soft sigh as the heated water lapped at her skin. The large Jacuzzi bathtub was new, and an expense she'd tried to put off by choosing something cheaper, but Turstin had seen in her face how much she'd wanted it.*
*Sitting back on her knees, she glanced at her hard work, wiping a hand over her forehead. Grimacing, she realized belatedly that she'd likely gotten dirt all over herself. Eyeballing the measurement for the next row of flowers, she bent to begin digging when a large shadow fell over her.*
"Good god, will you look at that ass?"
"Oh yeah, the things I would do for that one..." "Mmmhmm. Those lips make me think naughty, dirty thoughts." Amethyst Ayesha |PF|
*Pulling off the ear protection, she shook her head at Kaden after he did the same. As always, he antagonized the new recruits just to see which would screw up under pressure* Kaden, you realize that "asshole pressure" is different from "in the field pressure"? It's not fair to judge these poor people just because they can't put up with you. I know loads of people that can't put up with you yet would make fine agents. Amethyst Ayesha |PF|
*Peeking out at the deck, she sighed, glancing at Turstin. When he just shrugged, she straightened her shoulders, heading to the counter to grab a cup of black coffee. Detouring to the refrigerator, she grabbed a bottle of apple juice for herself before sliding the french doors open. Turstin pretended he was busy doing literally anything else, but she knew he'd react quicker than anyone would guess if she appeared to be floundering or scared. Nudging the large feline with her toe, she held the steaming mug up when he lifted his head to look at her* Shift, tiger. |
