*Turstin had given her a list and sent her to the store while he was working on prep. She'd never been that great of a cook, and truthfully would have subsisted on sandwiches and cereal if left to her own devices, so it was nice to have someone who knew how to cook. And actually wanted to cook instead of being forced to so that she'd eat. List in tow, she headed to the grocery store, checking off each item as she sat it in the cart. She might not be able to cook well, but gathering supplies and assisting, that she could do.*
*Tugging the debit card from her wallet to pay, she frowned as the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. Just before she'd left, she'd stopped to see if Kaden and Illy needed anything. Illy had been out but Kaden had demanded steak and beer. Because of course he did. She'd said no jokingly, until he'd lifted her upside down and smacked her ass, swinging her in a circle as she pounded on his back screaming that she was going to get sick all over him. Turstin had peeked from the window, chuckled, and turned to go back into the kitchen. The traitor.*
*Once he'd set her on solid ground, he'd given her a huge hug and kissed her cheek. Uncharacteristic of him, but hell, she wasn't going to ask what in the world was wrong with him. Kaden got into strange moods and got out of them just as fast. Wasn't her concern, at any rate. She'd felt odd since she left though. That creeping sensation of being watched was one that she knew well, being an agent. Using the motion of putting the bags back into the cart, she scanned the area, looking for anyone that appeared out of place.*
*Anything that might catch attention. She saw nothing. A few waiting in line, a blonde woman reading a magazine from the racks as she waited to ring up a soda and a candy bar. Turning, she headed outside, storing the bags in the back of the Jeep. Once safely inside, she glanced around the parking lot. Strange. She'd almost swear someone had been watching her, but no one appeared to be paying her the slightest bit of attention. Shrugging, she turned the key in the ignition, wanting to get home and shake this strange sensation off.*
