Landon Turrow |PF| *My parents faces said it all. They were disappointed but not surprised. What did they expect? That I'd obediently marry this girl? Ever since I was a child, I was told how our race was basically dying. That there wasn't enough purebloods. I knew then I would be guilted into marrying another pureblood. I just didn't think it would be now. Rubbing my face, I let out a sigh. From what I've heard of this girl, she was basically perfect. Medical training, could speak more languages than God, and from the rumors, she was the most likely to be voted to be our next leader. All she needed was a pureblooded husband.
Iris Vitae |PF| *It was instinctive, the call of nature, of the earth that needed my touch to flourish. Steering clear of the few scattered campsites near the mouth of the forested area I sought, I ducked under the low hanging branches, worry easing as I journeyed deeper. The scent and sounds of the world around me soothed me... here, I could finally relax and be myself. Bending, I scooped up a handful of the dirt underfoot, infusing it with with pure, healing energy. Scattering it bits at a time over the moss-coated ground, my lips curve into a small grin. People just didn't get it, they lived in steel and glass monstrosities, and completely closed themselves off to the way Mother Nature spoke to them, the thread of energy that bound all of us together.*
Yeah, I know I look like I'm twelve. It's all in the genes I guess. Mine happen to be the purest of pure-bloods. Both my parents are water elementals, as was their parents and so on and so forth. It's a family tradition. We have been water and ice elementals all the way back to the beginning of Sidhe. Even after we left, water is the only element my family has known. Being in the mortal realm is hard on them. It's hard on all of us. Humans tend to take for granted the energy around them, energy we thrive on. Other species, vampires, shifters, and witches hunt us for our blood. Being here is death. To stay safe, we huddle together in settlements; keeping out of sight and out of mind. My job is hunting down the things we need: food, supplies, other elementals, anything to help us survive. As long as no one finds us, we get to live another day. I'm unsure how long we can keep it up, but we don't have any other choice, do we
